Federal Carbon Charge

Starting July 1, 2023, the federal government’s carbon pollution pricing system, commonly referred to as a “carbon tax”, will be applied to all fossil fuels in New Brunswick including natural gas. The federal government will be responsible for redistributing the collected revenues to residents through quarterly Climate Action Incentive (CAI) payments. Click here for more information.
