Liberty Files to Adjust Natural Gas Rates to Help Customers Save Money

Liberty submitted an application to the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) on Friday, March 3 that includes adjustments to the distribution rates for all customer rate classes in 2023. Pending approval from the NBEUB, Liberty is seeking to implement the adjustments to distribution rates on July 1, 2023.

On November 22, 2021, Liberty submitted an application to the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) that includes adjustments to the distribution rates and charges for all customer rate classes in 2022. Pending approval from the NBEUB, these new rates and charges would take effect on May 1, 2022 and reflect Liberty’s efforts to maintain a safe, reliable natural gas system and enhance our customers’ service experience.

On May 6, 2021, Gilles Volpé, Vice President of Liberty New Brunswick was named one of Atlantic Canada’s 2021 Top 50 CEOs. Volpé and the other almost-200 nominees for the Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO Awards were judged according to their corporate, community and industry involvement, their company’s growth in recent years, and their responses to various managerial challenges.

Liberty Utilities Applies To Lower Total Cost of Natural Gas

Liberty Utilities submitted an application to the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) that includes adjustments to the distribution rates and charges for most customer rate classes in 2021 and a forecasted decrease in the Liberty Utility Gas supply cost in 2021. The proposed changes would result in reductions in the total cost of natural gas for all customers.

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. Completes Acquisition of New Brunswick Gas

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. ("APUC”)(TSX/NYSE:AQN) today announced that its subsidiary Liberty Utilities (Canada) LP (“Liberty Utilities”), APUC’s wholly-owned regulated utility business in Canada, successfully completed its acquisition of Enbridge Gas New Brunswick Limited Partnership along with its general partner (“New Brunswick Gas”), a subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB) (the “Transaction”). New Brunswick Gas is a regulated utility that provides natural gas to approximately 12,000 customers in 12 communities across New Brunswick, and operates approximately 1,200 km of natural gas distribution pipeline.

Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer

On June 8, six Enbridge Gas New Brunswick employees, Elaine Buck, Kevin Ellis, Scott Murray, Todd Scott, Mathieu Vienneau, Paul Volpé and Elaine’s sister Sarah Cross, will join more than 4,800 other riders as they cycle over 200km’s of Ontario’s countryside in the 2013 Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer raising money to benefit The Campbell Family institute at the Princess Margaret Hospital, one of the five cancer research centres in the world.
