Happy Holidays from our family to yours
Dear Friends,
I’ve come to love and take comfort, over the last 5 ½ years as General Manager, in the traditions Enbridge employees have so thoughtfully organized year after year, from the annual elaborate holiday office decorations, to the festive potluck lunches, to the jovial holiday sweater days.
It is my group of community-minded employees who remind me every year that not all New Brunswickers are so fortunate and need our help. They make an effort to organize volunteer and giving initiatives without any expectation for funding or recognition.
So I’ve decided not to babble on about how the total cost of natural gas is going down in 2018 or how natural gas is on the nice list compared to the other naughty listed fossil fuels. Instead I want to praise the caring, hard-working men and women who delivery your energy that I’m surrounded with every day. In 2017, we:
- Raised over $68,000 for the United Way. That’s equal to 1,700 nights of safe housing or 9,000 meals through the Meals on Wheels Program.
- Volunteered over 2500 hours to help support initiatives such as local community kitchens and children’s education programs.
- Marked 5 years without a single lost-time injury. And that’s because we look out for one another’s health and safety like a family.
So this holiday season I hope you can enjoy one of my traditions: putting my feet up by my natural gas fire place while drinking hot apple cider as I reflect on how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such caring and engaged employees, who are my friends and family too!
In honour of the giving spirit, I am sharing one of my favourite holiday recipes, one that is best made on a natural gas range of course!
