Avalon SalonSpa recognized with Green Award
On January 13 at the Gala Evening with the Mayor and the grand opening of the Fredericton Convention Centre, Enbridge Gas New Brunswick was pleased to present Avalon SalonSpa with a Green Award.
The Enbridge Gas New Brunswick Green Award recognizes businesses that have made a significant effort to reduce their carbon footprint throughvarious means.
In all three Fredericton locations, Avalon SalonSpa supports a number of environmentally friendly initiatives including:
- The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by using natural gas as a fuel source
- The use of high efficiency washers and water heaters to conserve energy and water
- The implementation of waste reduction and recycling initiatives
- The use of environmentally friendly products in all salons
- Raising more than $20,000 for environmental initiatives in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
“This award presentation is about taking the opportunity to acknowledge and congratulate a business in the Fredericton area for the positive impacts they have made on the environment,” says Robin Hawkes, Manager of Marketing and Sales with Enbridge Gas New Brunswick.
“We all have a role to play in reducing our impact on the environment and Avalon SalonSpa is a great example of a local business operating in an environmentally friendly and efficient manner.
Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is regulated by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board and has a distribution network that includes over 781 kilometers of natural gas pipeline. Enbridge Gas New Brunswick serves over 10,600 customers in Dieppe, Fredericton, Moncton, Oromocto, Riverview, Sackville, Saint John, St. George and St. Stephen.
