Enbridge Gas New Brunswick offers a solution to help protect the Wellfield area of Fredericton

Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is encouraging homeowners in the Wellfield Area of Fredericton to consider a natural gas solution when it comes to making a required change to the fuel storage on their property.

Fredericton obtains its drinking water from a groundwater supply located on the south side of the city, in Wilmot Park and Queen Square neighbourhoods, and there are approximately 250 homes that are required by the Province of New Brunswick to update the fuel storage on their property in order to protect the drinking water supply.

“The City of Fredericton strives to have an exceptional drinking water supply, and it is extremely important that it be protected for residents,” says Kathy Edwards, Wellfield Protection Officer with the City of Fredericton.

According to Robin Hawkes, Manager of Marketing and Sales for Enbridge Gas New Brunswick, the opportunity for homeowners to convert their current heating system to natural gas and remove the fuel storage on their property has never come at a better time.

“The Wellfield area is an important environmental element of Fredericton and needs to be looked after,” explained Hawkes. ”Enbridge Gas New Brunswick can offer a cost effective, safe and environmentally friendly solution for those homeowners needing to make a change.”

To help homeowners make the switch to natural gas, Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is offering additional incentives and financing options until September 30, 2010.
