Enbridge Gas New Brunswick recognizes Clean Air Day

Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is recognizing Clean Air Day by reflecting on the role that they play in helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the province.

As the distributor of natural gas in New Brunswick, Enbridge Gas New Brunswick delivers the cleanest burning fossil fuel to customers. By choosing natural gas, customers in turn, reduce their carbon footprint on the environment.

Over the past 10 years, New Brunswickers who chose natural gas have reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by over 1,000,000 tonnes.

That’s the equivalent of eliminating more than 180,000 cars off the road.
"I am proud to say that our customers have made an impressive impact on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in New Brunswick,” said Dave Charleson, General Manager of Enbridge Gas New Brunswick. “Achievements like this prove that natural gas is a clean energy solution for the province.”

Charleson looks forward to the continued growth of Enbridge Gas New Brunswick’s customer base and the further reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

“Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time and Enbridge Gas New Brunswick continues to keep environmental issues at the forefront of the business,” he said. “Together, as more and more New Brunswickers continue to make the smart choice by switching to or building with natural gas, I’m confident that before we know it, we will reach a point where 2,000,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions will be eliminated.”

Enbridge Gas New Brunswick is regulated by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board and has a distribution network that includes approximately 750 kilometers of natural gas pipelines. Enbridge Gas New Brunswick serves over 10,300 customers in Dieppe, Fredericton, Moncton, Oromocto, Riverview, Sackville, Saint John, St. George and St. Stephen.
