Saint John Transit recieves Green Award

Saint John Transit is the most recent recipient of an Enbridge Gas New Brunswick Green Award which recognizes businesses that have made a significant effort to become more environmentally responsible.

Saint John Transit is a leader in promoting environmentally friendly business practices. They have built their current facility to adhere to LEED Silver standards by employing a variety of measures, including:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by using natural gas as their fuel of choice for heating and hot water requirements
  • Collecting rain water for non-potable uses such as cleaning buses and facilities
  • Installing a solar wall using passive solar energy to meet a portion of their space heating requirements
  • Replacing older buses with new ones which are low-emission and energy efficient.

Enbridge Gas New Brunswick serves over 10,800 customers in Dieppe, Fredericton, Moncton, Oromocto, Riverview, Sackville, Saint John, St. George and St. Stephen.
