When a natural gas outage occurs, Liberty Utilities' crews work with local police and fire departments to ensure the issue is resolved as safely, and as quickly as possible. We try to minimize the impact to you by reducing the area affected by an outage.
In some situations, our crews need to turn off natural gas service at individual homes so they can safely make repairs. After completing the required repairs, our technicians go door-to-door to restore natural gas service. This requires access to the meter and entry to your home to relight your natural gas appliances. Always ask for identification before allowing anyone into your home. All Liberty Utilities' representatives carry photo identification.
If you aren't home when our technicians arrive to restore service, or if you or family members have special needs, contact us at 1-800-994-2762. We will schedule an appointment to have your service restored as soon as possible. Under no circumstances should you try to turn your natural gas service back on.
The temporary loss of natural gas can be an inconvenience and we appreciate your patience and cooperation during the restoration process. The time it takes to restore natural gas service depends on the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs, as well as the time it takes to access all affected customer properties.
